The answer explicitly identifies the business. This alone does not establish a citation to the business website.
An AI visibility report should tell you what appeared, where it appeared and what changed. It should also make the untested and unavailable results clear.
We agree the products or services and genuine target markets. For each, we choose representative questions that a prospective customer might ask. We record the actual wording rather than replacing it with a more favourable phrase in the report.
A question is a measurement sample, not the boundary of your service or a guarantee that every wording will produce the same answer. Branded searches and general category searches are kept separate.
The answer explicitly identifies the business. This alone does not establish a citation to the business website.
The answer links to the business website as a source. We distinguish an information-source citation from a recommendation of the business.
The completed answer does not name the business. This describes the observed sample, not every possible query.
An access problem is unknown. A Google search without an AI Overview is recorded as no Overview, rather than a failed recommendation.
We retain the date, exact question, platform, available model or mode information, location context, answer and source links. Screenshots support the findings.
We compare the same baseline questions over time. New questions are marked as coverage expansion and do not retroactively increase the old baseline. Repeated checks give stronger evidence of consistency than one favourable screenshot.
Results can vary with wording, location, account context and the platform. “Near me” requires a location context and is not interchangeable with a country-wide check.
We report ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity independently. A website change, indexing request or accepted submission is work completed; it is not proof of a new AI citation.
Google Search Console clicks, impressions and average positions are a separate search measurement. We label the date range, country and comparison period where available. An average position is not a live page-one check.
Contact clicks are not automatically qualified enquiries. Enquiries, bookings and revenue need their own records before we can attribute business results. If that evidence is unavailable, we say so.
The summary shows the service, platform and observed status. Supporting evidence includes the actual question and date. New wins, lost mentions and untested areas remain distinguishable.
This method guides our AI visibility service. It does not promise a particular number of citations, positions or enquiries.
A website that needs work. Customers who can’t find you. A team running on spreadsheets and messages. Start there.
